Blackbirds bringing in Spring
I birded Lake Leatherwood on Sunday. Several blackbird species were making a celebration of spring. Red-wings were singing territorial songs from the treetops. Common Grackles had arrived, a few. The first Fish Crow was making rubber ducky sounds, and a Phoebe had returned from its escape south when all that cold blew in. It was a song filled sunrise, which warmed my heart.
